Alright, this has been a long day, very productive, but long. I started with the basic work that had to be done. I got my laptop up and running, and then was able to start the day... I had to get the virtual workstations from the storage area, which I was able to get one from the workstation while the students where busily getting their lesson for the day. I also snuck a keyboard from storage so that I could replace an employee's bad keyboard (which I will hold onto till I have a chance to check it out and determine if it can be fixed). I was able to grab one of the virtual machine files, but was unable to access the other one. So off to the office I go... I adapted the workstation to adhere to the new server and then added the the users to the system. During the trainers lunch, I went back to storage, replaced the server and the one workstation and also reset the other workstation to the appropriate settings. I sometimes forget how impressive it looks to someone who doesn't know how the computers work in networking styles, because I really impressed the tutor, who had returned before I was finished. The rest of the day went without incident, oh well...
On a side note...
Ok, this is the geek in me… I was watching Enterprise (yes, I am a treky) and I found out something interesting (yes, I am a fanboy who watches the screens as they appear) and I found out that the enterprise runs linux!
Also, when the bad guy deleted all the data (nope, they don't have trash bins) and when it erased, it showed that 19.3 xb freed. Read below for what XB is.
Just exactly how large is a yottabyte?
1 byte = 8 bits (usually)
1 kilobyte = 1 KB (1 KB = 210 bytes) = 1,024 bytes
1 megabyte = 1024 KB (1 MB = 220 bytes) = 1,048,576 bytes
1 gigabyte = 1024 MB (1 GB = 230 bytes) = 1,073,741,824 bytes
1 terabyte = 1024 GB (1 TB = 240 bytes) = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes
1 petabyte = 1024 TB (1 PB = 250 bytes) = 1,125,899,906,842,624 bytes
1 exabyte = 1024 PB (1 XB = 260 bytes) = 1,152,921,504,606,846,976 bytes
1 zettabyte = 1024 XB (1 ZB = 270 bytes) = 1,180,591,620,717,411,303,424 bytes
1 yottabyte = 1024 ZB (1 YB = 280 bytes) = 1,208,925,819,614,629,174,706,176 bytes
The prefixes "TB", "XB" or "EB", "ZB", and "YB" are not in common use (yet); I'm assuming them.
